Welcome to Ratana's Kitchen, a cozy Thai restaurant nestled at 320 Tha Phae Road, in the vibrant district of Chiang Mai. This charming eatery proudly presents an array of authentic Thai dishes, perfect for any time of the day. With its family-run charm and a menu bursting with flavor, you'll feel the warmth and hospitality that Thailand is famously known for.

As you step inside, you're greeted by a relaxed atmosphere that radiates both comfort and a touch of local flair. The interior, while simple, is filled with a welcoming spirit that makes it an ideal spot to escape the hustle and bustle outside, especially on a hot day. The restaurant is open from 8 AM to 10 PM (or 11 PM), offering a delightful breakfast, mouth-watering desserts, and everything in between.

One dish that truly stands out at Ratana's Kitchen is the Khao Soi, often touted as the best in town by loyal customers. Imagine a fragrant coconut curry broth beautifully enveloping tender chicken pieces, accompanied by crispy noodles that add a satisfying crunch. The balance of flavors is nothing short of exquisite, with a hint of spice that invigorates your taste buds. Another favorite is the Chicken Satay, where marinated chicken is grilled to perfection, served with a rich peanut sauce that speaks to the heart of Thai cuisine. Complement your meal with a refreshing fruit shake, made with fresh, seasonal fruits, that will quench your thirst and tantalize your palate.

Real customers testify to the magic of Ratana's Kitchen: Camila Belén Lagos describes it as a must-visit, emphasizing the delicious food and varied menu that caters to all tastes, while others echo similar sentiments about the quality and quantity of the portions. Louise Aw delightedly recounts her experience of savoring dishes like Pork Porridge and Mango Sticky Rice, confirming the restaurant’s reputation as a hidden gem not to be missed. While a few diners noted brief downsides, such as air conditioning issues during peak heat, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive, focusing on the hearty food and friendly service.

At Ratana's Kitchen, the flavors of Thailand come alive in a setting that’s both inviting and family-oriented. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this restaurant is a gem where every meal tells a story, rich in culture and culinary excellence. So, come and indulge in the true essence of Thai food – you won’t want to leave!

I came here because of a friend's recommendation and will come every time I come to Chiang Mai. The food is delicios, the prices are good, the menu is super varied and it's a family run business best Khao Soi in town. They have fruit shakes with fresh delicious fruit too. Open from 8am to 10pm or 11. They have breakfast, desserts, everything.

We went there for breakfast. 31 Celsius outside. It was nice to go in and cool down a bit. But inside the AC fan was on turbo mode, and we all felt uncomfortable . The waiter refused to turn it down a little bit even though we were the only guests inside.Maybe it was only a language barrier? Eventually, we had our breakfast outside . The food was nice, and the portion was enough . The amount of the butter for the toast was ridiculous. Except for the AC issue , the waiter was professional.

We stayed in a hotel with walking distance of 4mins from here and we found this only on our last day before departing to airport. It is indeed a gem in Chiang Mai. Good ambience, good food. We ordered the PanKrow Pork Rice, Pork Porridge, Chicken Satay, Mango sticky rice and Blueberry Cheese Tart. The highlight is the Chicken Satay, tender and tasty even for us who come from Malaysia. Blueberry Cheese Tart is also highly recommended. Will come back here if i come CM in future.

This little restaurant has a large menu with plenty of meals to choose from, both western and Thai. Prices are fair and serving sizes decently large. Burgers are great! The restaurant also has tour guides to browse and books to buy. One of the girls that works there is extremely energetic and cheerful. She is a good enough reason to visit! I have never had a waitress tell me "Goodbye! Hope to see you again soon!" as she is leaving work at the end of her shift. Will visit again just because of that!

Nice, cordial service. I had the Khao Soi with chicken. The broth was nice but lacked heat. It was served with a chicken leg. My appetizer of pork ribs was on the tough side. I didn’t enjoy this dish as much. The Thai style green milk tea was just ok. I would’ve preferred the regular Thai iced tea.

Well I've been popping into 'Ratana's Kitchen' more recently lately - and let me tell you why - it's conveniently situated midway-ish down Thapae Road, offers AC (so nice in these very hot weeks), seating inside and out, and has a good menu. I will only mention one item on this occasion and that's their 'mango and sticky rice' which is utterly delicious, served up beautifully, and is ridiculously inexpensive. Go try it if you haven't already, can't be beaten in CM. Original Review With a least some tourism happening in Chiang Mai during January 2022, it's great to see the excellent 'Ratana's Kitchen' doing some good business again. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and well located in Thapae Road. There is a variety of very reasonably-priced meals and drinks available and the staff are most efficient. Inside (with welcome air-conditioning) and outside dining is available. Highly recommended.

Lovely restaurant with extensive Thai and Western Menus First impressions matter! There were quite a few customers inside and out and the place was very clean and tidy. Dishes were being brought out straight after they were freshly prepared. Staff were attentive and helpful, and prices were very good. I chose three random dishes as I was in there for a while, slowly snacking. Tempura vegetables were crispy and fresh. Chicken Kao Soi was delicious, but slightly too spicy for me. Sticky rice with coconut cream and banana was a perfect way to round off a spicy dish. I will return
